Joke: what does BG think when he is formatting his computer?
Has anybody taken the time to consider this?
Come on! Think about it. After having our computer crippled by virus, trojans and all other sorts of malware just three months after having done this last time, we get to the point where we have to reformat our PC... what do we mortal users do? (Of course, this is cheap talk, as we all use linux, right? ;))we think of &/()%&%$%&$(() BG and all the folks at M$ and wish them sudden but painful death. :D But... think about BG formatting his PC... what can he think? Well... I bet the Chief Software Architect's fate at the company should cross his mind (;)).. but he can't just blame the software. I'm just sure it's always the hardware's fault, right? Maybe some day he'll get to the point of thinking: I'm just SICK of this! I'll give linspire a try! |
LOL, yeah and i got post 4 more times to show you guys something thats gonna make your jaw drop
|
Oh, I bet Bill thinks:
"Gee, I really like running Linux and not being restricted by the Windows license and extremely, extremely annoying Activation scheme I push on the masses, muahahahaha!!" :D |
OhNoNoNo I got it:
"Gee, I wish I could get Windows to look just like this Mac." |
BG doesn't reformat his HDs,... he gets someone to do it FOR HIM. He doesn't use one machine. He uses a whole network of machines.
He's filthy rich,... if he wanted, he could have someone wipe his arse after he takes a dump. |
i dont think he involves himself in that chore.
and if he does, he probably does it regularly installing new longhorn builds. i dont think bill gates has ever kept the same build of an OS on his computer longer than a month or two. |
For all we know he might be running DOS 6.22 with Windows 3.11 on it. I don't know anybody who had to reformat their hard disk while running DOS. FORMAT C: was a dirty word those days. Since 98 onwards, FORMAT C: is your ultimate virus buster. :D
|
I would guess he is beind a massive firewall (probably running some BSD), then he probably has a good antivirus. And if he ever does have major problems he probably blames it on hardware.
I wounder what he does on his computer? Does he program? Play games? Just surf the web? |
I'm quite sure he doesn't have this kind of idle time, I would also assume any idle time he does have would be spent with his family.
|
Hmmm
he might say that very naugty "F" word after all he did say it once in front of cameras when a computer he was demonstrating crashed I believe somewhere is a site where you can see that very event but I can't imagine anyone here being interested being a very serious group of Linux users floppy |
Well for start, hes not filthy rich, he is disgustingly rich, He is the offical richest man in the world after that oil guy in kuwait. He probably has his own customized version of windows, or more proabable a nearly finished version of longhorn.
Hahahah his comp crashed, proabably running the dog turd 95 when he was giving it a knob polish with the demostrations. |

OMG, not you again, will you just shut the fuck up. What are you a windows Fan? Oh yeah Arch is a pile of shit, will you just leave it instead of attacking me all the time you knob.

RE:
who says he has to reformat his PC? I havent reformmated my PC in over 2 years because I take care of my PC and OS. Im sure Gates is constantly looking for ways to improve his OS and I wouldnt even be surprised if he's tested different versions of Linux to see what he likes and doesnt like. Remember his first concern and embarrassment was the instability of the 9X kernel so they trashed it in favor of the NT kernel. Now his main concern and embarrassment is security so Im sure thats what Longhorn will focus on.
Peace and Chicken Grease. |
Hey !
Has nobody ever thought how all those full-time programmers managed to code so buggy programs ? I don't think it's because they are the worst of the world, in every big trust they try to get the bests and others are fired quickly. The true reason is that Bill has the soul of a gamer. Do you remember the tutorial to learn how to manipulate mouse on win3.11? It was just representative of Bill gaming pulsions. So he imagined that he couldn't sell his games if there wasn't enough hardness in it. So he implemented enemies and traps, like Windows update, integrated firewall, netbios protocol weaknesses, and the last boss, the network configuration assistant ! But like in every popular games, Bill didn't forget the Godmode cheat to enter in the console that get rid of the bugs. If cheatcodes for WinDoze was in the last pc magazine would you abandon Linux or any other *nix for an unbuggy Xp :Pengy: Well not me :p I'm fed up with violent games ! |

To the thread, I'd honest be fascinated to see Bill Gates home computer setup. I've heard his house is majorly decked out with techno-everything, wonder if it's controlled by a Windows-based center in his living room maybe or if he's just got a coffee table full of remotes... |
Lets try and keep the personal attacks to a minimum guys...
|
But maybe he thinks: 'If we can't get this working better, we won't make more money, and then I won't be able to make my very large charitable donations, nor will I be able to bring about the school reform in America. I have to do this, for the children.'
|
I doubt he does a lot with his personal computer. It's generally accepted that's he's no computer guru...he's a genius in the business world, not the tech world. I bet he's got a customized OS running everything in his home. The most that he probably does is surt the web and check his email (after it's filtered by a dedicated department at Microsoft). And I bet those things are done from some kind of integrated "WebTV" setup he has. If he does actually have a normal Windows PC, I'm sure it is kept up to date and is behind a firewall. I mean, the man has a whole TEAM of live humans to filter his spam. :D

personaly, i had to re-install more often linux than windows.
without considering distros that doesn't install or boot at all. |
I would have to say the same... but was it linux's fault? Not at all. One funky WD HD.
Once I got a decent HD, It worked neatly! |
He'd rather buy a new PC though... There's no such thing like formatting HD.
|
I had to reinstall Linux a few times, but that was only because I kept switching distros...and I kept botching my LFS install. :P
