It is about windows XP user name ... so choice is yours to answer :-)


some body set up windowxp on my laptop and he isnt around. i do not know the password so i can not go any further than log on screen.

Please advice that how to reset the password without re-installing the windows?

Or, if you don't want to reset it, I think that the SystemRescueCD contains an app to recover Windows passwords. It's a "LiveCD," so all you'll need to do is have a CD reader in your laptop from which you can boot. (And, of course, some other system where you can download and burn the ISO file.)
