Sure, for an additional price. Check the terms and conditions because it probably a really limited warranty. How many miles on the vehicle? You need to find a trustworthy mechanic to check it out first.
According to the US Kelly Blue Book a 1984 (that is as far back as it goes) Firebird Trans AM in excellent condition in the midwest is worth about $2200 using an average number of miles. On the west coast it would be worth a few hundred dollars more. Also, in the description it mentions some TLC and that worries me. I wouldn't get excited just yet.
A fellow coworker of mine had a 88 Monto Carlo SS. Nice car. However, be careful if your looking at ones with turbos cause there prone to be abused.
I would spend that.. but as stated above if you dont know jack about cars get someone to check it out..
One good thing to look for.. make sure all the OEM emissions equipment is still on it.. If it is a 5 spd take it down the road and power shift it a few times. if the tranny has not been ragged on it will grind like a MF.. it if it glides into gear then it has been ragged on, and I would stay away.
check for rust around the hatch, check for rust around the strut towers... I would also make sure it is the OEM carb.. I dont trust used holleys or edelbrocks blah blah blah....
Thanks a lot. I'm going to check it out tommorow after school... Any way I can convince him that this car is road worthy, and won't break down? This is a great way for me to learn about cars.

great car to start with if you want to learn about cars. might suggest looking for a mustang
Either way.. dont try and convince him.. if for some reason it is not road worthy.. you do not want it.
As a parent... What reasoning would you listen to? BTW, I checked the canadian trader and can't find any affordable 'stangs.
I want this car bad! I can't wait untill I get a job, I need this now, because this is EXACTLY what I wanted. I wanted a car that will make me stand out from everyone else! This is the one! I can't explain that to him though...

on a car that old, if you don't know much about cars yet, it really is worth it to have a pro that you trust check at least the crucial safety-related components (brakes, fuel lines, wheel bearings, suspension, etc.). consider it cheap insurance.
here's a big site for just about anything 3rd-gen trans am/camaro - tons of really knowlegeable people and info:
