Is there a difference?

I have a little problem i would like to persue a career in system admin but i am not sure what would be the better OS to learn from Linux or a Nix based OS like FreeBSD, OpenBSD, or NetBSD. I am going for my Bachelors in Computer Science but just not sure what i should really focus on because there are quite a few companies that follow Linux but Solaris and other Nix OS are more common in today's world. Am I right? If i am wrong please let me know.

I am really looking forward to everyone's opinion in this matter.....Thanks

If you know Linux or Unix, you'll likely be able to do most things in the other OS. I would think that if you want to Learn Unix, FreeBSD will be just fine. If you want to learn Linux, you'd want something like Slackware. In my opinion Slackware is about the most pure Linux OS out there. But then again....I'm a slacker

All in all, you can't do it over night so spend some time learning both Unix and Linux.

It's all good stuff

Peace bro!

Well i am planning on getting a laptop my only worry is how long before they are able ot get the centrino wireless support up and going? I would like to use it over getting a card was looking into getting one of the Toshiba M10 series. And if the support is released on a kernel will this be passed along across the board BSD and Linux?
