is Linux based on Minix
 
Hello ..

i know the first version of Linux used Minix File System , but i talk about whole kernel if it's get some code from Minix ?

i think :scratch: no becuase Linux Monolithic and Minix Micorkernel .


any information about this subject .

Have you ever heard about Wikipedia? It's an amazing free-online-encyclopedia maintained by volunteers. Works well and with the same spirit as Linux and Open-Source. Any, again, ANY questions about something I ever had, be it a country, an animal, a console, a person, a game, a computer, a company, an operating system, EVERYTHING is available there and in multiples languages. Before posting something like this, try looking at wikipedia and see what you find:

LOL :D. Seriously though, I think a forum should just be used when the answers is not on a "quick-google" or the method they've found to fix a given problem is not working. I'm pretty sure I've even seen a similar topic in this forum already. Peoples simply don't search :(

if you had not already came across these , you may try to have a look at them ...

theres a paper written by linus stated that there was no minix code in linux , written in October 10, 1991 at around linux version 0.03 ::
LINUX--a free unix-386 kernel
