Intel active mgm. tech.
I have been given an HP Pro 3500 microtower and have run up against Intel active MGM. tech. when trying to mount linux to the HD. What workarounds are there either software or hardware. Can I mount linux to the HD and return it to the 3500 or any other suggestions before I start experimenting. DR. Frankenware

I don't have any idea what this post means. I looked up the HP Pro 3500. Looks like it is a 3rd gen i5/i3 type machine. You should not have any problem installing Linux on that.
Here is a spec sheet for one. Nothing exotic here. https://www.cnet.com/products/hp-pro...ghz-4-gb-1-tb/ Quote:

You may be conflating Intel AMT (part of the Intel Management Engine) with UEFI Secureboot. The former won't prevent you from installing a different OS, the latter shouldnt in most circumstances, if you follow the distribution's documentation on installing with Secureboot enabled.

Do you mean that the installer won't partition or put a file system on the machines hard drive? https://linuxmint.com/documentation.php https://linuxmint-installation-guide....io/en/latest/ You are not trying to install mint form windows are you? Or are you trying to make a virtual machine? |
