INstalling NS-2 in WIndows XP

Hi ALL

I am trying to install NS-2 on WIndows XP. but when following the procedure I am getting the following response

Patch -p0 < ~/ns-allinone-2.26-cygwin.patch

it gives one of the two messages

$ patch -p0 <~/ns-allinone-2.26-cygwin.patch
bash: patch: command not found

$ patch -p0 < ~/ns-allinone-2.26-cygwin.patch
bash: /cygdrive/c/bin/ns2/ns-allinone-2.26-cygwin.patch: No such file or directory

What i am doing wrong

Looking for help, have any body configured NS- on windows before.
