Angry incorrect disk space

Finally uninstalled linux and went back to windows(dont ask me why). Pretty sure i resized the windows partition to the maximum and deleted the linux one, but clicked on the c:/ drive and found it still the size when i had linux. Can anyone tell me how to make sure that i resized the windows partition properly?

Go to the disk manager, by doing the following.

First, go to the Administrative tools, and then select Computer management in it.

Select disk management in it, and you will get the full details about all the hdd's attached to the system.

Your linux partition is probably in ext format, so you will have to reformat it.

And regarding your choice, I have nothing to say , as Linux is all about freedom.

Windows ME is one of the most disgusting OS I have ever encountered and it does not have any tools for checking the disk space. You have no option, but either to use third party tools, such as Partition magic, or upgrade your system.

However, if you have access to another system with either win 2K,XP or ***x, you can plug in your hdd in that system and restore the space. Other than that, I don't see any other viable alternative.

umm... actually, if you had a linux boot disk, you could boot off of that and restore lilo or grub(linux boot loader) for linux if that partition is intact(as it sounds like it is.) otherwise if you don't want linux, get a 98/ME boot disk (bootdisk.com) and boot from that and you could delete/reformat the linux partition into another partition that windows will recognize.

For you info SeT, the 98/Me starup disks don't recognise the ext partition, or any other partition other than FAT, so there is nothing that can be done with those disks.

As I said, you have to either upgrade or depend on third party tools(partition magic,etc.,).
