In Depth Look at FOSS on Mars
I've been particularly interested in the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter for several reasons, not the l;east of which is the open source Linux based operating system. That interest has only increased since the somewhat accidental demonstrations of how successful it has proven to be to adapt to random events. Now I find it's history and development are far richer than I'd known so I thought it worth sharing.

Nice link. Just for giggles I tried to replicate the F' (fprime) environment in my WSL (Windows Sub-system for Linux) ubuntu install on my Win 10 laptop. Supposedly F' will work on it, stand-alone and virtual linux installations. It went pretty well - cloned the repository, added a python virtual environment for 'fprime-venv' but 'pip' thru up errors on trying to install a couple crucial tools, something about versioning differences. I may try VirtualBox next.

Installed WSL2 but still couldn't get a working F' (Fprime) install, did manage to get an Xserver going on Win 10 and may play with ROS (Robotic Operating System) for the upcoming 2023 NASA Viper (lunar) mission.

Congrats for even trying, Mjolnir. You might find LiveSlak interesting and useful. Unlike most live distros this one is a full install but solely on a USB drive (no changes or commitments required) and comes with Perl, Python, GCC, and numerous devel tools. It can be transferred to HDD but doesn't need to be since it is capable of Persistence.
