Question Import Linux Icons to Windows

Windows default browser (explorer) uses a little, spinning globe in the upper-right corner. My install of Linux has a more satisfying gear that spins (hail, Konqueror!). I have a Windows app. that converts stuff like .xpm files to .ico & .ani. I looked for .xpm's, and was shocked at how many I found. Some are animated, others are not. Where is the animated icon (and is it an .xpm) that Konqueror uses? Correct answer wins a prize!

I think this really depends on what distro you use...

have you tried digging around in your mandrake?

it depends whether you are using individual icons /usr/share/icons or maybe they're in a theme /usr/share/themes or as you suggested, search by file extension, maybe you'd get better result's or if like me you've got superkaramba installed for some of those "flashy visual effects" then maybe /usr/share/superkaramba/themes

Maybe this helps ??

regards

John

p.s. or maybe the spinning gear used in konqueror might be in a konqueror specific file/directory - just a thought.

Icons to Win

Hmm... A great series of possibilities, Big John! I only hope that I can find what format this little icon is in! Since my first posting, I've been unable to find any .xpm files that look like my target, and I've looked all over in my root directory! I am assuming it's another format... I'm going to try to find out what formats are read by Linux, and start over from there. If anyone can help speed this process, please do!

;p I'm daring you!

What is a "throbber?"
---------------------

For those of you who aren't familiar with the term, a "throbber" is the
animated graphic that appears in the upper right corner of most web
browsers. The function of a throbber is to let the user know, by displaying
animation, that the browser is busy retrieving information.
Here is a Registry hack one can use to get rid of "throbber".....he he take that Bill........
Code:
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser]
"ITBarLayout"=hex:0c,00,00,00,4c,00,00,00,74,00,00,00,1a,00,00,00,10,00,00,00,\
  17,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,6a,00,00,00,26,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,e0,00,00,00,e0,\

Importing Icons

320mb, that's very interresting! As a longtime Windows user, I've really had to force myself to attempt mastery over the registry mod! I know it's off subject, but is there any way to resize or move a window, the way the Linux X Windowing feature allows? What I mean is, when you hold down the meta control button (alt by default), you can move and resize windows, by further clicking and holding left or right mouse buttons?

Message tag... YOU'RE IT
