Does this count as "venting"?
Yeah, it does. My Mom is a big conspiracy theorist too. It actually kinda scares me sometimes, since I would REALLY like to believe that the world is a nice place.

Even so, I think you should just relax. That's what I do in these situations. You are pretty darn smart, maybe you can go tinker with Linux some more, eh?

Then again, perhaps I shouldn't be giving advice, considering the fact that I've been depressed and/or mad because I dropped my laptop and broke the CD/DVD drive, then proceeded to make it worse by opening it up and breaking a speaker connection.

Anyway, hope you have a nice day.

Thanks for that ...I often underestimate myself, though. Right now I'm kind of in a state of confusion as to what I want to believe (and I'm not just talking about conspiracy/no conspiracy, either), so I sometimes wonder whether I'm really "smart" or if it's really that I'm the one who's being misled and fooled and...yeah, it gets like that.

Yeah, I read about that in your "macbook pro teardown" thread...sorry to hear about that; I hope you get it fixed. I also noticed you changed all your profile stats to things along the lines of "nobody cares"/"pointless"/etc.
