Have you tried using a live CD and just copying/moving the files back by hand?

Why???

Note: Better to put this in Linux-Newbie or Linux-General

Where you are is more like the riff-raff or blowhard section--take a look at some of the topics....;)

sorry i will rewrite this question in an oder topic ... im a bit stress i have like 1200 user.... and nothing works....

I'd like to try and help but your posts are really thin on details about the actions that you have taken e.g. how did you try to access the drive, what errors you got when the process failed etc. By the way why would you want to move /etc to /home particularly on an important server? Your system won't work properly if important files in /etc are not found.

If you can log in - even only in single user mode - you can copy/move it back.
Error messages when and what you try could help.

Please don't encourage users to cross-/ double post. If
you want to give sensible advise tell them to ask a mod
to MOVE their post to a more suitable forum.

hi all

moderator have close my other thread sorry again.
it was my first time i post in a forum....

the only distribution finally able to see my drive was the ubuntu live cd 5.10

i make a directory in the with command makedir /mnt/driveplz
i go in terminal
i rewrite the /etc/fstab in the ubuntu (sudo gedit /etc/fstab)
add this
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 /mnt/driveplz ext3 defaults 1 1
save file
sudo mount -a ( in terminal)

my drive mount in the /mnt/driveplz

after i open i open two nautilus with sudo nautilus

and finally drag my /mnt/driveplz/home/etc folder to the /mnt/driveplz/etc

reboot and was able to log in

Now my ldap server is ok
my samba server is ok
but my nfs server is down....

i will try to found a solution maybe with the transfert of /etc some file was lost....

Thx to all in both thread
