Exclamation I messed up Please help


I installed linux Mandrake 9.0 over windows xp and now i cant use my aol account and i really have no idea what im doing with linux. Is there anyway to install xp onto linux, partition it, from cd?

Kind of confused...Are you asking if you can recover the XP you just erased and installed linux over? Probably not, without jumping through hoops. I'm also guessing that you did not back up your system.

Now if you are asking if you can partition in such a way that you can install both XP and linux on the same box, that is easy. It's called dual booting, and you can find many examples via google search.

Please clarify what you wish.

are you wanting to use aol? there are AOL clients for linux, gaim, naim, and AOL instant messanger (for intel distributions of linux), if that's all, just install one of those, otherwise, yes, all you have to do is repartition and reinstall xp i personally woudln't recommend reinstalling xp though, but i'm biased against micro$oft to begin with i have to deal with win98 wen helping my mom, and am finding out i'ts harder to do things with my mom's win98 box than on my linux boxes, so my personal reccomendation would be to immerse yourself in linux as much as possible and only reinstall xp as a last resort
