With all respect, you do understand that this is LinuxQuestions.org , not WindowsQuestions.org, don't you?

I looked at your past posting history and saw no indication in it that your problems have anything to do with the Linux operating system.

Unless you're trying to run WMP under wine or something (and you certainly would've mentioned it if you were), then you really should find a forum dedicated to your needs.

WindowsQuestions.org redirects to linuxquestions.org. So yes, it actually is windowsquestions.org. Instead of telling people to go away, please tell them to post their non-linux questions in General.

Anyway, tyrant_dragon3000, this might help:

The window is off screen and you can't get to it to move it, right? Right click on its icon on the taskbar, and then click "Move". Then you can move the window back onto the screen using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

OMG, it's true. Pinging returns the same IP for both! Explains a lot though.

WMP opening up off screen is (or at least, was, a known issue) I just came across doc about it last week when researching a problem with the work laptop. I believe it was mentioned in the "knowledge base" over there but don't retain details as I never use WMP

I knew Jeremy had the DNS name registered. I didn't know there was actually a forum there, and that if someone asked a Windows related question on it, it would come here with no warning or notification. If that's happening, somebody has to make a change.

It probably isn't, tho. Probably people get redirected here and ask their Windows related question anyway. I think they deserve a little static. At the very least, someone being redirected should see a little sign warning them that this is a Linux forum, and windows discussions may be met with derision.
