Human Dissections on TV
Hello
Recently, British TV (Channel 4) broadcast live dissections for the education of the general public about anatomy. However, I missed a couple of them. Though Channel 4 broadcast the fact that they would be freely available to watch on their website at www.channel4.com/autopsy , I've been unable to get them to play. So firstly, can anyone else out there get them to? Quote:
Secondly, did anyone out there record them / manage to save the files from the website in e.g. xvid format? Watching them on the website would be great 'n all, but I'd like to be able to burn them to VCD so I can watch them again when they *do* get taken off the website. So if anyone could help me with that, I'd be grateful. Thanks. [EDIT]: (By the way, I'm hoping to do medicine at college, and I find anatomy interesting... not some strange person who gets kicks out of looking at dead bodies) |
They play fine for me, using Firefox, mplayer and the mplayerplug-in plugin for Firefox.

Thanks. Didn't know if it was me or channel4.
I was actually trying to access it with a windows network (not at home: I don't have the internet at home). I'll try bringing in a Linux boot disk and see if the system admin will let me use it. Does MPlayer let you save the clips to disk by the way? (Internet Explorer wouldn't) |

Code:
mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile /home/jj/tv/autopsy/ep101.wmv mms://video.channel4.com/science/autopsy/autopsyep1_1.wmv And thanks for the link by the way! :D |
