Would you agree that, for some, the correct answer is, "Are you familiar with Socratic dialogue?"?

I'd usually say "only if they run Linux", but I did once help a couple who'd been given a desktop: I showed them how to use Internet Explorer and taught them to shut down rather than turning off the power at the mains.

Computers or M$ Windows? I differentiate between the two and won't touch the latter.

Coincidentally, I was approached by a colleague this very morning with something like "273, you know a bit about techy stuff abd the internet, don't you?" And was asked about email forwarding between one domain and another. I gave an honest answer that I knew there were a few ways to do it and gave some information.
When asked about "computers" I just tell people "I've not used Windows for years...".
I also advise that I use Android as there is no other option and don't use it as others may.
Not that I know much, especially about modern devices, I just know a little about the fundamentals.
Oddly, I do tech support for a living....

I used to say, "Yes."
Then I said, "Yes, and I even use Linux."
Then I said, "Yes, but I only use Linux."
Then I said, "No."
Now I say, "Are you kidding? I don't even carry a phone."
