Question How to Spot a Motherboard gone bad.

Does anyone know if there are anyways to tell if your motherboard has gone bad? When the one on my NEC went bad the computer would shut itself off sometimes. Are there any other symptoms to spot if one's bad to save yourself from trying to replace everything else???

If you have a multi-meter, you can check the mobo for continueity. Besides that, you could intentionally burn it and make a public demonstration in front of their offices demanding a refund

One way to diagnose which hardware component is failing is to swap parts, one by one, with a known good system. For example, swap hard disks and see if your problem follows the hard disk to the good system, etc.
