How to emulate the PS 2 with a Raspberry PI 5 ?
Hello
AetherSX2 with Ubuntu 23.10 is recommended here
https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/...2-raspberry-pi
It is however an appimage, which isnt what you would dream of.
ArchLinux with PCSX2 is also recommended.
Here it shows other infos.
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2024/1...apple-silicon/
What would be the best OS and emulator
So far, retropie has no image for pi 5.
kind regards

You might be able to use it under box64 (on Github).

On Raspberry pi 4:
TENCHU works slow with about 20 to 30 FPS.
It is not playable.
taking the very same image and into the rpi5 !
On Raspberry PI 5:
Tenchu works very fine.
it shows 30 60 video.
See screenshots, from moving from rpi4 to rpi5 later.

GTA San Andreas works okay and it is good playable on raspberry pi 5 !!!

It's the old story: When you've finished a design like the RPi 4, and left it a while, you see how you _should_ have done it!

Can you reduce the Resolution to 720p or even 576p? Run htop & check cpu usage? It could be falling back on the swrast driver, which is a cpu cooker. I'd also check CPU temperature with sensors.
Lastly, what's the PS2 ram? Games are inclined to use all the resources you've got. If that PS2 has 32G and you have only 8G,You could be swapping out.
