how to develop caller id

hi everybody

i want to develop a caller id software but dont have slightest idea
from where to begin with.

plz provide some guidance from where i can get the information regarding caller id open source.

Depends on how you want to do it, the telco would offer this so they might have a way to access the data from them, you'd need to ask their support staff. Another option would be to see if you can get hold of a copy of a phone book database or something and then just perform a lookup on that based on the phone number that is calling you.

hi cs-cam,

thanks for ur advice.
but my prob. is still unsolved. for a caller id i need to trap incoming call signal.
and i dont know how to do it. more i dont know what hardware and software arrangement i have
to make.

plz guide me in this matter.!!!
