How To Contrrubute to the LXQT or the LXDE Team

Hi:

One of our members here liked my art work and suggested that I submit some of my art work to LXQT so they can use my designs as desktop backgrounds.

I'm having a hard time finding how to write to the LXQT or the LXDE Team.

I looked here but there are so many instructions that it is overwhelming.
https://opensource.guide/how-to-contribute/

Not sure if making a thread in the forum is the answer or not because I'm not trying to write code for them I just want to submit my art work.
https://lxqt.org/about/

Maybe I should post to an IRC channel or go to Open Stack?

Lubuntu is switching to LXQT so this looks like a good opportunity:-
https://lubuntu.me/this-week-in-lubuntu-development-5/

Maybe talk to Lubuntu Development and QA coordination?
https://lubuntu.me/links/

Suggestions are welcome as I'm not sure how to get the ball rolling:-

Here is the main developers Disqus page (Hong Jen Yee): https://disqus.com/by/disqus_mxhlHvUSjI/
LXDE mailing list: https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxde/lists/lxde-list
Main Lubuntu dev. that works closely with main dev.: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/tsimonq2

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the links ChuangTzu-

I e-mailed Simon one of the developers.
I'll let you know how things go.

Desktop backgrounds aren't DE-specific, are they? Why not put them on gnome-look.org or xfce-look.org?

No the backgrounds aren't DE specific, thanks dugan.

I'll head over to gnome-look.org and see. But before I do.....

My original paintings and sketches are designed for 16 x 20, 16 x 24 and 14 x 17 frames.
I'm not sure if resizing them in GIMP will make them blurry or not. I'll have to experiment:-

Oh, are they large and print-resolution?

Honestly, you might want to consider deviantart.

Yeah, they are large but not sure if they are print resolution or not.

I tried to put my art work on Devian Art before and I forget what the problem was and couldn't do it.
There was something in the documentation that I either couldn't get clairification on or the site wanted me to give up my rights to my work and I was not about to do that.

Here's what I don't like about their Terms of Service:

16. Copyright in Your Content

Quote:
you grant to DeviantArt a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, re-format, store, prepare derivative works based on, and publicly display and perform Your Content.
https://about.deviantart.com/policy/service/

All of the paintings and drawlings that I have created are the one and only original pieces of work. I do not want my work to be reformatted, reproduced or other wise messes with. So... I don't think Deviant Art is the way to go but thanks for the suggestion.

I'd rather make designs for Lubuntu, LXQT, LXDE and other Linux Teams.
In the future I may contact Fedora and make designs for them if they like my work:-

^ they do have some artwork sharing threads.
but it's a very quiet place, and i doubt that the powers that be spend much time there.

If I join the mailing list where exactly would I leave a message for a dev?

I joined the LXDE Mailing list with Source Forge.

I got an e-mail confirming that I'm now subscribed to the lxde-list list.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxd...9-8cd02d2ef3a2

Clicking on create a new project makes you register for an account with Source Forge.
I didn't want this. I just wanted to be able to submit my work to LXQT or LXDE.

An additional e-mail that lxde-list sent me explains that you have to post to the list through this e-mail.
lxde-list@lists.sourceforge.net.

I'll let all of you know if I get a response:-

That should work...

Also, check out the video here: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...rs-4175636452/, you may be able to leave a comment for the main dev..

It's been a little over a week.
I wrote to 2 dev's and joined the LXDE mailing list.

Haven't heard a thing:-
