I don't love or hate my job. I like it though; except boot-camp. I'm an AE, Aviation Electrician's Mate for the US Navy. I work on MH-53's, mine hunters. I work on all wires, electronic components on O level. If it has a wire running to it, I fix it.

I think I fit in the top category. The only thing that would make me happier is if they paid me more money (what I'm worth) and my "commute" was to my computer at home rather than to the corporate headquarters! Although a few people have problems with co-workers and bosses, realistically any time you deal with people--that is, even when you are the "customer" or dealing with family and friends--you will still have at least occasional problems.

I absolutely love my job. I'm a network engineer for an IT company that provides service to a large number of clients. I work with about 8 other guys who do the same thing I do, and we each have a client list that we visit and attend to. I get to administer all kinds of things, including Linux, Windows, Cisco devices, Barracuda appliances, firewalls, and much more. I get to learn new technology pretty much as fast as I want to, and I get to pretty much manage myself. I just have to report what I do to my company for billing purposes. Everyone I work with is great, and I know that if I have an IT related issue that I am not an expert at, someone where I work has the answer. And there are lots of opportunities for me to provide answers to my co-workers when it comes to Linux. And, my office and most of the clients I visit are close to home. I can't imagine having a more enjoyable job unless I would be getting paid for being a musician.
