How can you tell that someone is bad? or Good ? someone is bad? or Good ?

In the sense you dont know him/her well.

It just like in Computer world how can you say that someone is a hacker?

Instincts go a long way in a person determining the personality of another.

Often you can ask a person generalized questions in a sneaky way about their habits. Don't ask them "hey, man, are you a cracker?" You say "I watched this video about this guy who cracked the Pentagon. I thought what he did was pretty ingenious. Have you ever heard of anyone cracking into anything like that?" Then you can often guage by their response.

Notice that I used the word "cracked", instead of "hacked". Cracking is traditionally a term to indicate the task of breaking into a secured system, whereas hacking is something that most people in the computing world do ... learning how computers work, making them do what they want, etc.

Obviously, if I'm a bad guy, then I won't go round broadcasting the fact to all and sundry.

Its always the quiet ones you gotta watch though ;). Actually that reminds me of another Carlin sketch:

"Its the quiet ones you gotta watch. Really? I bet you while you're watching a quiet one, a noisy one will fscking kill you! Suppose you are in a bar and there is a guy reading a book not bothering anyone, and a guy with a machete comes in banging on the bar yelling 'I'll kill the next motherfscker who comes in here!' Who are you going to watch? " :D

You can't. But their actions and words will be helpful in planning on whether to duck the machete.

And then, while everbody's watching and cowering away from the crazy with the machete, the quiet guy puts down his book, pulls out a silenced MAC 10, kills them all, finishes his drink, walks out and goes to the next bar.

Call it a gift ... in many cases it is just that. I know I can tell. It's like a twinkle in the eye, I usually avoid looking people in the eye, but when I do look at them I can see though them, usually it's one look that tells me, but it has to be in a quiet place with few people. Sometimes I can't tell, then I have to wait and watch, one action is all it takes to give them away, sometimes a Freudian slip, sometimes context clues. All truly bad people will give themselves away in no time, they just can't hold it in. The way they put things into words, the way they phrase sentences. I can usually tell if people are male or female without even seeing them just from the way they formulate sentences ... try it yourself. There are, of course, exceptions.

You should also know that I believe bad people are made not born. This cursed place, it corrupts them.

P.S. You may think I'm a bit harsh, how can I possibly tell if you're out to cause trouble ? It's small things that tell me, a word misplaced, a word missing or added, a crooked smile. So far I calculate my accuracy at around 80 - 90 %. And it's not just menial things, a misspelled work, bad grammar, none of that, that has nothing to do with it. It's your inner thought that I see, that you put into words and try to cover up what you think, but you can't, as hard as you try you can't do it every time.

abrenar,

Going back through your posting history, you now appear to be asking why we (LQ) may be judging you. So far, I have not seen anything by any members indicating that they believe you to be "on the dark side". But as others have said, as a newcomer, you came to us asking questions that each can easily be construed as nefarious. And when you put them together, they seem even more so.

We don't know your actual intentions. They may be completely honest and curious, with no dark intention. But how are we to know? None (or at least most) of us don't want to be an accomplice in any dark dealings.

For instance, you also posted a thread asking people to provide personal information about themselves. I responded to the thread (without personal identification), and now after seeing your other threads, feel doubly suspicious about your intentions.

At this point, you still have a chance to change people's minds. But continuing to ask the same line of questions will get you nowhere fast around here.

And this thread is getting nobody anywhere......I'm recommending closure

Tinkster 02-24-2009 02:42 PM

And I second pixellanys notion, and close this thread with this.
