Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I had many good years with InMotion Hosting, but---as their support started to degrade---i'm in the middle of a move to Bluehost. Unfortunately, they also have issues.
Welcome back to LQ.
please remember that this is a global forum.
Which country are you in and where do you desire your servers to be located? I think that's important information, required to give you a good answer.
I also use GoDaddy. And, as ondoho mentioned, since LQ is a global forum, sometimes the country information concerning the server, and/or the individual asking the question, is important
With the idea of global needs, one of the benefits of GoDaddy, is that their website is available in the language of the country that the developer is in. In my case the country is Taiwan and the GoDaddy website is available in the Chinese (Traditional) language. And, in the case of GoDaddy, I can get technical support on Taiwan if needed.
GoDaddy are in my "not even with a 26 foot barge pole" category. (The GoDaddy Wikipedia article contains some of the reasons.)
The best hosting company I've encountered for support is NetHosted, but whether or not that's a useful recommendation would depend on information you've not provided.

I'm in Annapolis, USA. I don't care where the servers are---as long as everything works

OK. The Linux podcasts I currently listen to run ads for digitalocean and Linode, so you might want to check that out.
Price-wise, in the area I live, netcup.eu seems worthy.
Can't speak to customer support for any of these.
