How many Douglas Adams fans do we have here? I haven't read all the books yet, but I loved the first one and I was about 1/4 of the way through of L,U,E when I had to return it to the library They RAWKED.
By the way, does anyone else go to the LUE board on www.gamefaqs.com? I want to know if we have any fellow Linux LUEsers... (By the way, LUE on GameFAQs is now off limits to anyone who doesnt have 150 karma, who's userid is less than 88113 and who didnt sign up for it, so all you new fans can't be a part of it. The discussions on the board are mainly perverted anyway, but a lot of funny stuff comes up).
Got the trilogy of five for £7 and loved reading some great sci-fi/comedy again. Though I feel the first 3 were great and the second two less so. Maybe I read them too quick, about 1 a day. Definalely worth it though... to finally get all those online quotes
Got all of Adams' books, including more than 1 dog-eared paperback copy of HHGTTG and an autographed copy of "Last Chance to See". Also have the HHGTTG BBC DVD. Great stuff!
It's not that the later books are less funny, but rather that Adams' wit matured over the years and he became more interested in creating interesting plots than silly jokes. Still, I have to admit that I enjoy the earliest books the most.
