help on choosing project topic

I am planning to do my graduate project work in Computer Networks. But the professor says to come up with some new topic....

Do you have any ideas on what I should work at ? Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Read on different 'hot' topics. Papers from your institute may be a good start. Find something that interests you. Then find a related topic.
