Happy Freakin Birthday To Me

44 years ago today a terrible disaster occured; I was born completely against my will.

I was hoping to enjoy a nice day of riding my recumbent combined with some pub hopping. Unfortunately, between the remaining vestiges of this nasty flu bug I've had for a week and the weather associated with the approach of Wilma, I am instead spending the day resting at home.

Out of boredom mostly, I installed Xp and have been playing around with it just to see how it performs compared to the Slackware Linux I normally use. I'm not impressed, but that's for another thread.

Well, at least I have chocolate cake.

After my near-fatal car wreck last December, this natal anniversary seems especially important to me. While my physical, financial, and living conditions aren't exactly as I would want them to be, I am still here on planet Earth to observe the passing of another year of residency on our little blue ball of confusion.

First up, happy birthday! And look on the bright side of getting through your accident the end of last year and being able to enjoy cake when other's have already been hit by Wilma. As for confusion, you must be a little dazed from birthday bliss to re-install Win XP!

Oh, and send some chocolate cake this way if you got any spare

Thanks folks

Actually, it's the first time I've ever installed Xp. The install disk was a gift a couple years back, never used. Just bored and wanted to play around. Three hours to get the stupid sound card working that works straight off in Linux. geez.

Anyway, I'm glad to still be around.
