Hacking out of control

http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/04/politi...ent/index.html

I read where the U.S. has tools to attack hackers.

Wonder why they are not using them ?

It seems that every week we hear of another case of hacking folks personal info etc.

If they were using Linux, hacks would drop by 90%. :-)

How do you know that they aren't? I doubt they'd advertise it.

They didn't advertise the FBI surveillance planes.

They won't advertise using it until the heat gets bad. :-)

Or there may be Predator drones targeting the servers as we speak.

I wonder why would the FBI would use civilian planes when drones and satellites provide more secure info. ?

Civilian planes fly under the radar, in a manner of speaking. Most persons don't notice general aviation craft.

Also, if you are capturing cell phone data, as they were, cell phone signals have a limited reach. Spy satellites won't pick them up.

No, the US is not going to fire missiles at "servers" (in buildings that have people in and near them) that are located in China. That actually would be WWIII.

The best way to stop 'Crackers' is to hack into their machines & block them from the internet.

More effective would be to write a custom Stuxnet for China.
Destroy their hardware and slow them down.

And have a string in the program that says, "Made in America." :-)

Interesting twist. Target Federal employees or their families.

So nobody cares about how secure the servers in the US were, just go ahead and nuke China.

The servers were probably grossly mismanaged and insecure, and the data was probably unencrypted, but go right ahead and nuke China.

It is already known that a zero day vulnerability was used:
https://threatpost.com/opm-hack-may-...ce-data/113184

Heck it could have been hackers somewhere else routing their efforts through China, or it could have been an inside job, but go ahead and nuke China.

Now, I have a question. I know military types in the US are hot headed. Fixit7 are you in the military or planning to join ?

Stop writing posts about how great it would be to callously kill people and then waiting until after you get a bad reaction to claim that you were joking. This is the second time you've done this recently, and you should have known better after the last time you had to use this excuse.

This is how you're coming across.

https://twitter.com/sallystrange/sta...82117495459840

And if you actually, genuinely, sincerely were making an attempt at "humor", then you should know by now that you should never do it again. Or at least announce your attention up front. If you failed twice to communicate that you were making a joke, then you've simply failed twice to communicate that you were making a joke. The fault is not mine.

I just received a private message from Fixit7 where he again insisted he was "joking".

Okay, Fixit7. Why do you think this was funny?

Hard to find the guilty people with a nuke. Good in theory but bad in practice.
