Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Did you succeed? The best I could manage was to let it become a zombie account because I wouldn't prove my identity by providing them with a lot of personal and confidential information.
The trouble is that one day facebook just decided I couldn't log into my account without first providing them with my home address, phone number and social security number (which doesn't exist in Australia) or driver's licence number - which I naturally refused to do. So I still have a facebook account which I can't delete.

Yes, I was faced with the same problem.
I don't remember anymore how, but in the end I could log in without providing them a copy of my passport (:facepalm and from there on it was relatively straightforward. A mobile phone might have been involved.
