Just kidding, I am also looking for it, but that browser worries me. At this time, it could grab a bite from any browser player on the market. I'd personally want to see it hit IE hard, but the chances of it hitting Firefox are also there and with the speed Google releases things for Linux (if and when actually) is what worries me...
Yeah, too bad it says "Google Chrome (BETA) for Windows". I guess that means we'll have to wait a while for them to port it ? I don't see any download button, do you ?

I just had to give it a go with this browser. After all, it is google. Well, I didn't like the browser at all. The interface is pretty nice and minimal, just the way I like it.
What I hated with it (and it was enough to remove it from my PC) is that it believes the end user is an idiot. It did not allow me to choose where to install or which language to choose. It just placed the installed files in a less than awkward place and installed the language judging by my location, even though my XP is in English.
I did not find where to change the default language (if at all possible). But hey, if it is more than 3 clicks away, it is broken (see how Opera and Maxthon handles that beautifully). It does include spell checker though.
I did like how the search integrates with the browser and flash worked fine by playing around on youtube.
Definitely a browser I will be trying out again, when they stop believing that all end-users are clueless newbies...
When you try to uninstall it, a pop up comes up saying:
"Are you sure you want to uninstall Google Chrome?(Have we said something stupid?)".
Kinda like the old ID Software games when you wanted to quit. Expect that ID, unlike Google, has a funny sense of humor...

I may be mistaken, but it appears you choose a language at download time: http://www.google.com/chrome ("Select a language"). Or maybe that's just the language for the page text; not sure.
I don't have a Windows box to run it on. Apparently you can test Chromium builds using the instructions here: http://dev.chromium.org/developers/h...ructions-linux (I'm not really that interested; I just want to give it a quick try.)

Thanks for the reply anomie. I've just tried again, made sure that I took the correct language (English, God's language as once mentioned in a South Park Episode) and it will still install with a different language. That is because most/all of the installation is actually done on the fly, streaming chunks from Google's site. This is the third time I install it
Astute Reg readers have pointed out a Chrome condition of service that effectively lets Google use any of your copyrighted material posted to the web via Chrome without paying you a cent.
Ah, that will certainly suck and won't make Chrome a viable solution for any working environment. But hey, it is open source, let's wait for somebody to fork it, if it is worthy, because so far, I don't see it...

A Slashdot news item[30] drew attention to a passage in the terms of service for the initial beta release, which read:
"By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any content which you submit, post or display on or through, the services."[31]
The passage in question was inherited from the general Google terms of service.[32] The Register summarized the passage as "Your copyright goes up in smoke."[33] Google responded to this criticism by stating that the language used was borrowed from other products, and would be removed. They also stated that the change would "apply retroactively to all users who have downloaded Google Chrome."
Google confuses me so much. I never know if they are the good guys or the bad guys. Either way, I think their marketing share when it comes down to search engine is... well... unhealthy at best. It scares me how much I use it, at home and at work. I simply don't use any other search engine, that feels bad. I better google for other google alternatives

I don't see the fascination, to tell the truth. I may have used google once or twice in the past several years, but I can't remember when or for what. OTOH, I use yahoo search many times daily. To each his own, I guess.
