What's the best command line games available? I've got spare time now and again when waiting on system restores, etc and it's a bit obvious firing up descent... I know there are adventure games etc. available - what's the best to kill 5-10 minutes?
(It's my workstation, not a server I'm running it on, so I'm not bothered about installing games, etc)

absolutly i remember playing colossal caves late at night and being so scared that my lamp batteries would run out before i made it to the vending machine, zork is just the same. yet both of these were text only. i never could get into nethack because it seems like you need a phd to read the map but i can understand how everybody feels about it.
a bit off-topic for console games but anyway, i found myself an amstrad emulator the other day and ive just started playing one of my favourite games of all time. ive taken some screenshots if you wanna see what a real game looks like
