Frequent Flyer Question

Hi!

I just opened a "Miles & More" account with Lufthansa's frequent flyer program. My question is, if I book a flight with one of their partners, for example United or Air Canada, do I still get miles? Do I HAVE to fly with the actual Lufthansa Airline to gain miles, or can I gain them with any of their partners for later use with any of their partners?

What happens when you ask the Lufthansa people those questions?

It is unclear on their website (FAQ) section. I just wrote them an email. No Lufthansa people here?
