free pop3 / smtp account


can anyone suggest a reliable free pop / smpt email service? my isp's email is a load of absolute **** ( on inspection of the extended headers i see they are using some sort of m$ software...don't know if this is anything to do with it, or whether the people who work there are just stupid.)
