free picture server to wiki needed

hi.

I have an existing server on-line free (of course) http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/

which with little documents appears to have deleted some of my pix that link from a wiki.

Naturally any new site must allow linking.

I am thinking of filehigh.com as it allows a thumbnail link in the wiki and if someone was curious they click on it and get the big one.....yep exactly how thumbnails are suppposed to work.

Altho I have broadband...using my own webspace is not an option and I am not seeking free space from any LQ user.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wait a minute, you offer a free picture server for people on the web and you don't even host the pictures, but instead looking for a free host provider for them?

I'd suggest you host them yourself and not hot link, that's bad.

No I am not offering any free service myself.....I am a user of a free service.

Can you spare the time to explain why hot linking is bad pls?

ps I did for a nano second consider investigating using my own web space....but for various reasons I am reluctant to do so.

1) I am not an expert on web page and I do not want to run a web server

2) if something else is free it leaves others not to attack my web site.

Oh ok, you only use that site, not run it. Your first post makes it seem like your running the site.

Hot linking is bad when it's not a site or bandwidth your paying for. That's why a lot of free host providers do not offer such services, they're paying the bill, not you and most of the time ads don't fully pay for all the services. When you start hot linking for pictures and such, their bandwidth goes up.

I'd just recommend hosting your own images if at all possible. It's just the most ethical thing to do.

Content of images, not withstanding.
