Free hardware

Wasn't sure where to post this so general seemed the most appropriate. I have 20GB of DDR3 ECC unbuffered memory, came out of an HP z800 Xeon workstation. The sticks are a mix of samsung and hynix - 2GB sticks. I will send them free to anyone in the continental United States if you are interested. PM me if you are.

If this is not the right place to post this, please let me know, thanks.

Is there a Linux User Group (LUG) in your area? Often if you email the folks on the LUG's list they're willing to come and pick up free things and might even buy you a beer. It would save you the cost of shipping.

Probably, I'll need to do some looking around. I am not worried about shipping really: it's about $3 US to ship first class mail. Good suggestion though, thanks - I'll do some searching later to find a LUG.
