The Google's preferences don't allow to place search results other than 10 by 10.
The outcoming of this is that the standard 10 results don't fit in one monitor page (you need to scroll down to attain the following results).
I had found a Google reference to display each result on only one line and so I was able to see 30 results at a time.
A part the fact that I have lost the aforementioned reference, the problem is that even that was not the right solution because the line only showed the title of the results and not the comments and / or the site address.
To solve this problem it would be necessary some sw that allows to format the results (one by line or two lines each results etc.)
Besides that it should be great if you can save the results on a file with the format you have choosed and the search string (I know you could simply save the page and then run a script to better format the file...).
It keeps on NOT working (at least for me...)
But it doesn't matter, it is not very important...
Nevertheless I try to explain again what is my goal:
I use mainly Google for my searches in Internet, and I'd like to have something like Copernic (in Windows), that is to have a better control on searches (also if I limit my searches to one engine).
I have read somewhere that Google has been written in Python (at least partially...) and I wanted to have a better control of the searches in terms of number of results displayed on the monitor, the format of such results and the possibility to save on disc (from program, not by hand).
I think that you can access the API of Google...
I have seen that you also solved the problem of michal017 (who has already thanked you) on the extra char appending in vim... Can I add my congratulations?
Thanks I only found the old question because I was looking up your old posts (you said you had bad experiences with the forum, and I had to anyway to help with that python script...). Usually I just search for 0-answer questions. There should be a method on LQ to mark a request 'completed' instead...
I thank you for the time you have spent for me, but don't waste any more time: I must be without hope!
... I see the squished-in-the-middle version of "www.google.com/ie".
Maybe there is a bit of a language barrier here... you are supposed to see the squished version. If you type your search into the squished screen, you will get search results that are just links, with nothing else.
