For those who stick to the keyboard.

When in Firefox downloading a page, if it takes too much time, you can strike the Esc key to interrupt the download (Firefox 61.0.1 under Xfce 4).

Pretty sure you can do that in every version of Firefox ever released, even back when it was called Firebird, and before that Phoenix.

And it's not limited to Firefox - the only browser I know that doesn't default to Esc cancelling the page loading is the text-only Lynx, where it's an optional feature (to not conflict with escape codes).

Although, I wonder what the deal is with mobile browsers - assuming a keyboard with an Esc key is installed (a lot don't), have the Android/iOS browser makers maintained that shortcut?
