in the real world cracks r a legal thing to ask for since all open-sorce is free think of it like this when the gov. puts a price tag on the net people can ask for any thing they FREEDOM of speech and since no fedarl laws were broken when i ask the question in hand...just your rule on your web site. besides linux is a joke any ways every 1 i have used as problems with my hardware even the ones i have bought so ..... besides im run win 7 enterprise and i can find a OS that can match it 64bits..........
Greetingz!
I'm not entirely sure what your question is, however if you're looking for a Linux distribution to try (and you're used to Windows), I would suggest the following;
1) Ubuntu
Nice little "Desktop" distribution with many spin-offs. 2) Linux Mint 9
Seems to be Ubuntu-based, but from what my Dad tells me, it's a good bit "Smoother". Seems to have better printer support than the default Ubuntu, as well. 3) Slackware
If you're trying to "Learn Linux", and happen to either have a dual-boot setup, or a separate computer you can experiment with.
Also, I would suggest heading over to DistroWatch.Com. They have a great run-down on almost every Linux distribution.
just your rule on your web site. besides linux is a joke any ways every 1 i have used as problems with my hardware even the ones i have bought so
...You know, some ppl tend to call a "joke" to different things... I would consider your post in a Linux Forum where ppl try to help eachother in solving problems with different distros, and therefore share a common interest, - using linux -, the ultimate joke, EVER... but what the heck, that's just me... or then again, maybe not... who knows...?!

I want you to meditate in a simple concept... it is called REALITY... aka , real life :
1. ... You wont't find anything unless you look for it...
2. ...You won't look for anything unless you believe there is something...
( Lao Tse would not say better himself... )
Therefore, as long as your system of beliefs does not allow it, you will never understand that Free Open Source Operating systems can be stable, can be free of unmanageable processes calling out for the "mother ship", can run free of malware, since its core applications are compiled with ever evolving families of compilers, they use the hardware resources more efficiently than closed source binary only solutions... but then again this is your incapacity, not LQs members...
this sort of reminds me of an easy mind trap : "User friendliness"...
...Driving a Hyundai ( windows seven ... ) is easier than driving a Formula one car ( Slackware or Arch, or Crux ), so a Hyundai is a more sophisticated machine than a Formula one...
...flying a DC-3 vintage airplane is easier than flying the Sukhoi - 35... therefore the DC-3 is better than the Su -35... and so on... kind of funny, isn't it...??!!
User friendliness, AKA WindBlows 7 vx user Unfriendliness, AKA Arch Linux... Kawaii isnt it... ?
Actually, not all open-source software is "free" in the sense you're thinking of. Yes, it's "free" as in "freedom", meaning you can copy, distribute, and/or modify it, so long as you adhere to the terms of the license it was put under (most often this is the GNU GPL). However, there are some companies (such as Red Hat) which do "sell" open-source, but they do so by selling things like tech support services and bundling closed-source software (such as some device drivers).
