Fonts problem on Firefox 2.0.0.1(Windows)

Hello to all!:)

Have you guys downloaded firefox 2.0.0.1 on Windows?I guess you did. However,I discovered that some fonts are not displaying correctly.

As most people do,I installed PHP on windows.I created a phpinfo.php page to check whether certain modules are successfully loaded. However, the fonts on that page are not correctly displayed. As far as I know, the font type and size is not the same as usual. They are in wrong font type and smaller size. How comes? Is that a bug?Because I feel good when I was using 1.5.0.x version on windows before.Nothing happens.

If you guys have similar experience or solution(better),please drop me a line.

Hello Ang, Windows? Oh well, I will probably get crucified for this, but it is Christmas day.

Programs running under that system, like most OS's, use a directory within the system for fonts in general. If you have fonts not displaying correctly, then re-install the fonts, by hand if needed.
Maybe even try to download the fonts from another location, in case your copies are corrupt.

Hope this helps.

Do you also use Linux?

Hi shorty943,I am also using Slackware 11.

shorty943,I use Windows because I have been developing web application and want to get it done real quick. As a result,I use Windows.

By the way,if you said the font problem is true, then why don't IE display it incorrectly too?I just can't figure out.

Thanks for your suggestion.:)

Ang, it could be that Firefox 2 has a different way of handling the fonts. Or fonts are kept in a slightly different place in the system.
Being something of a Luddite myself, I am still using 1.5. Won't change just because it is new.
Maybe check your fonts directories and synchronise them. Are you using true type fonts, or custom?
As a web developer, you are way ahead of me there my new friend.
Apart from checking font directories, is there something in php, that has changed between version 4 and 5. Hmm, silly question, probably lots of changes.

Sorry, best help I can offer, Ang.

Good luck, Shorty.

You are right.I think I should go back to 1.5 because I don't have any problem using it.

shorty943,I have same experience if browsing webpage besides phpinfo. As a result,it's nothing to do with PHP.I just give you one of the example which has that problem.

Please look at the fonts when I used firefox 2.0.0.1 to view openbsd website.

IE 7 displays the website without any weird font size.
