Floppies....
I've got 117 floppy disks just lying around unused. Any ideas?

oh wait- you said disks... bootdisks! Repair/emergency rescue disks! floppies tend to up and die, so having backups is good. linux on a floppy: tomsrtbt: http://www.toms.net/rb/ coyote linux: http://www.coyotelinux.com/ titanium_geek |
Build a pyramid. I have had horrible luck with every floppy I've ever tried to use so none of my computers even have drives in them anymore. CDR and USB drives all the way

They're useful when they're formatted properly. I only have one old computer and I'm gonna try out vector Linux on it.
Ooooh, but I have an ancient laptop with Windows 3.1 on it! It has no cd drive. Oh yeah, and I found a few more, bringing the count to 123. |
When my stack of used (and old) floppies gets up to about 100, I reformat them and give them to the local computer recycling organization. They rebuild old computers, for schools and whatnot, and are always looking for slightly obsolete hardware, like floppies.
However, building a raid drive with them is pretty cool, too. |
Oooo, how can I do that?
