Fixing garbled screen font
 

Ok,
I learned this today and wanted to share it:
if the terminal font gets garbled/unreadable (usually by cat'ing a binary file)
type reset and press enter to restore the font.

For future reference: such things should go in the answers or the wiki section,
not into the question forums.
