Fighter buzzing

There is a simple method of cutting down the # of instances of this.

Sundial agrees 100%. :-)

No, I think your solution would increase the instances of that. By a lot.

Fixit7 04-13-2016 06:52 PM

So, the russians are so stupid, that they would continue reckless behavior ?

Will give you an example.

Someone drives up to your house with a gun and pounds on your door.

What would you do ?

It's true that he is not in your house yet, but do you risk injury or death if you decide to do nothing.

Leave through the back door.

(If the answer you wanted was "shoot first", then keep in mind that you were just lecturing me about "reckless behavior").

The carrier weapon is not part of the destroyers arsenal of weapons.

Ship killer missles can be launched from miles away.

The YJ-18 missile can cruise at about 600 miles an hour, or just under the speed of sound, only a few meters above the surface of the sea and then, about 20 nautical miles from its target, accelerate to as much as three times the speed of sound
Name calling and gesture baiting before a fight is high school shenanigans.
Hardly worth dying over.

Wait and see. Our navy is not the MH17 Malaysian plane.

Looks like the Poles asked us to be there.

The American destroyer was operating alone at the time of the incidents, though there two Russian ships in the area, a frigate and an auxiliary intelligence gathering ship shadowing the destroyer, according to the official. It had left a port of call in Gdynia, Poland, to conduct the training exercise with the Polish helicopter.

My info is based from someone who does Anti Submarine Warfare on board the Nimitz.

But you appear to have more info. :-)

I don't see the problem. Before you go whining on and on about the Russians, ....What the hell is the US doing there in the first place? You do not think that the US would do the exact same thing if the Russians were in US' back yard in the Caribbean or Atlantic, etc?

I really am getting rather tired of the US putting it's nose into everything, and eventually (as I stated in another thread) its just going to bite the US in the ass, and rightfully so.

Older article, but it gives the point CLEARLY, it is a buffer zone..

Didn't the Poles also ask for nuclear weapons, which is another BUFFER country? hrmmmmmmmmm. I'm sure the Russians would gladly oblige... A missile or two in Warsaw ought to do just fine. And no I'm not just trolling...

"Russia 'simulates' nuclear attack on Poland
Russia has provoked outrage in Poland by simulating an air and sea attack on the country during military exercises. "

Go ahead, and get NATO in a full-on war against Russia. I still do not see Russia as being belligerent, sorry. The USSR technically is gone, so......Why is NATO still there?

You might want to brush up on your geography and Territorial waters.

As far as the Russians are concerned, that is still a buffer zone, plain and simple. Go tell to the Russians.... I surely would like to see the end result on that :D

Jeebizz 04-13-2016 08:08 PM

Since I most likely now look like a 'Russkie' sympathizer, a non-Russian source:

http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2016/...ar-russia.html

So I ask again, why is NATO still around, wasn't the purpose of NATO to counter the USSR? Since the USSR is no-more, NATO should have also disbanded, why is NATO expanding? Of course Russia has a right to call out NATO, yet Russia is the aggressor? Explain please.. Please do.

Fixit7 04-13-2016 08:14 PM

I will do some research on NATO and get back.
