Favourite mode of travel
I lke driving my car over long distances; it's enjoyable to travel to my daughter's city(730 km away).
My favourite mode of travel is by train. There's something peaceful and meditative about listening to the train sounds as you meander through a forest wilderness.
What's your favourite mode of travel?

Car -- local radius 600 miles. Hop a plane when heading to east coast. To much time to be on the road when still working. Even when/if retired, I'd take a plane for that many miles. More time with the kids/grand kids!

Train.
I worked for Amtrak for over two decades and got to travel all over the country by rail. There is no better way to travel and see the sights. Try crossing the Donner Pass by rail sometime. Or the Hell Gate Bridge over the East River from Brooklyn to the Bronx.

I never had a car and I don't bother with holidays any more. It isn't worth all the hassle. I think you only really need them when you're working.
I used to go on coaching holidays because they are cheap (and convenient if you have local pick-up) and you get to see a lot, but they're not exactly luxurious. A sleeper train is definitely classier. Flying is horrible. You have to fly if you're going outside Europe but it's no pleasure.

I had been a life long cyclist, (until I lost all my fitness looking after my mother with dementia), but now I either just walk or use my latest form of excercise/transport, kick biking....

I just engage FSD and let the car drive most of the time. At my age it might be way better and faster than I am. Or it might kill me.

Cruise ship is # 1.
Train is # 2.
Car is # 3.
Plane is my last and lease desirable choice. Usually used to get to choice 1 and 2.

I do quite enjoy my Fuji Sports 10, but I'm using if outside of my neighborhood--that is, using it as transportation rather than recreation--my neighborhood where the streets are wide and (most of) the drivers sane.

Walking, because it's the best way to enjoy this https://www.publicdomainpictures.net...ng-along-beach and this https://dissolve.com/stock-photo/Wom...01-D430-44-558
Cycling for similar reasons.
Train - you can relax and watch the scenery go past.
Not so keen on using the bus because the vibration and bumps turn your brain to mush, and there's not enough space or any privacy.
Driving - drift off for a relaxing snooze for a few seconds and you wake up to a major accident and twenty years in prison.
