Ok, I have ZERO knowledge on scripting, and I may be completely wrong, but isn't C also one?

I chose the only one I recognize (well not really, but recognize and have used, not to program, but programs that use), Java.

Well even then, I guess I use PHP alot, what, at least ~2000 times or so. Hmm, I guess I should have voted after I started thinking...

Cool

I can't decide - Ruby, Perl, or Python. I love three of them, I just delved into Ruby, I've scripted in Python, and I script with Perl almost everyday at work. Ok I vote for Perl - I speak Perl.

Python, out of those I've tried.

I doubt many of the voters (myself included) will have a detailed knowledge of all thos languages, though.

Just for those you who didn't know, Javascript is not Java, so there isn't any confusion.

Thumbs up

I voted for Python.

I really like it simple way of organizing the code without the classic "begin ... end" or "{ ... }" delimiters to define blocks in the control flow structures. I don't know if other script languages include it, but python uses tabs or spaces instead. So, it makes the code smaller and you can't write unindented code anymore.

Another reason is that it's a multi platform language and it has lots of modules. And of course it's free as . Finally, it's the base of Zope, which I like a lot

Hang on, C is a programing language, but you can also use it to write scripts... life is so confusing.
