Facebook invitation question
Hi there,

I am no longer FB member, and I receive repeated invitation from the same guy which I don't know, I did turn down invitation before from different members, but this guy is new. My question is, does FB send out invitation automatically, or must initiated by member everytime, if the latter, then I will want to dig deep to see why this guy after me. I am not trying to hack FB or something, just curious to know how it works, any comment ?

Some social networks can use people's email contacts and send invitations requests indiscriminately to all contacts in the list many times. FB has a similar feature, but I'm not sure whether it allows people to select which contacts to send invitations to, or if it's indiscriminately (and whether or not it sends invitations requests automatically several times). Though I use FB, I've never used this feature, precisely because I've had undesirable experiences in the past with social sites repeatedly sending invitation requests too ALL my email contacts (luckily, it was an email I didn't use for "serious" purposes, but it was still annoying).

Sorry I don't know better; maybe another member has more information about how it works?

I'm pretty sure that users have the option to just mass invite their address book.

If you're using Thunderbird (or probably any e-mail client) you should be able to create a filter to send everything from straight to the spam folder if you like.

Thank guys. I just curious why only that guy send invitation to me, he/she must get my address from other sources such as my friends. I asked my other FB friend to look up for me the user ID and they found few only, after checking the profile photos I know they are not someone that I know. Anyway he didn't really bother me, he sent me invitation once every month or so only, and I can easily block him from my host.
