Everything may not be as advertised - Do you think?
 

I recently had cateract. Surgery. My vision was 20-650 it is now near 20-25. It was painless and the recovery is boring but what the hell. If you are very near sighted you might need surgery. I almost lost my sight in my left eye during retina surgery but I got lucky and had a great surgeon. With correction my left eye is around 20-30. My right eye is 20-25 without glasses. And for luck they find out I have Glaucoma. Right now I am taking drops. I don't know what is going to happen. I go in thinking my vision is going to be crap and find out that I don't have to wear glasses anymore. Glaucoma is a pain but that is inherited. You may be 20 and brilliant but how is your luck? It is like knowing all the things Linux and everything else you better know if you are going to survive. I hate coincidence and really believe such a term is statistically unlikely. Also if you have diabetes you are at grave risk. I want to tell some about my life for your benefit. I have lived the most reckless life of anyone you know I bet. I have paid a price but little compared to my behavior. My luck like eyes has been amazing period.

My goal in writing is to share! I wish to share my wisdom. Previously I had posted that I had started fooling around with Linux in 1996 but I think someone corrected me and said it was probably 1998. I think they were correct. I spent those years at a lug and had a great deal of fun. If I had a gift it was being able to almost instantly tear something apart in five minutes and see how to compromise it. I knew back then that I wanted no part of MICROSOFTperiod. I knew that the future was the past and that was Unix/Linux. I started studying and realized that in 20 years things would be different. It is ok to be patient and hunt something for twenty years only to win like basketball in the final seconds.

Good to know the surgery worked out for you. I had a lasik surgery 5 years ago to correct my nearsightedness and everything went smoothly. The recovery was fast and painless as well, except for the feeling of having sand in my eyes. Now my sight is perfect, 20-20, so I cannot be happier with the surgery.

You may want to check around in your town for a surgeon who specializes in retina or diabetes eye care. They treat the back of the eye. Keep the number in your phone. You can't be to careful. It's great that you have good sight.
