Essay on open source - need more ideas

Hi all

I'm writing an essay on open source software and its effect on the average computer user (I still have time to change it - maybe to 'its effect on the computer industry'? or 'What is open source software and how does it work?')

However, I've run out of ideas, and I need to double my wordcount (from 2200-ish to about 5000).

Anyone got any ideas of what else to write about? Anything obvious I'm missing? Does anyone work for a company that uses Linux (preferably on workstations for non-technical personnel) that I can interview over IM?

My current essay is here - http://transyada.com/Open Source Software.odt

Thanks in advance!
Joe

I've skimmed it briefly, and I can already say that it's well-written enough that you should try to publish it.

Maybe it's not very relevant now, but it's a pity that I can't read your essay. I'm writing mine now. And for someone who has problems writing their essays for college or some courses, there is an essay writing service called Paperell that helped me rewrite my essay when I had serious problems with it. When I had trouble with my tasks previously, I also used the university site lsa.umich.edu where I read their essay writing guides in the hope to make my work easier and find some great tips. I think that if someone has such a specific topic to cover than professional writing help can be very useful.
