email accounts

Do you know if it is possible to know who is the owner of an email account?
Are there sites or directories, sort of white pages, for email accounts?

Thank you very much guys

You can try doing people search online like at Yahoo, have email search as well but when I've tried it, seems very unlikely that its very accurate.

But like acid_kewpie said, probably not a good chance of getting accurate lists for email. Anyone can sign up for the thousands and thousands of sites that offer free email to anyone on an internet connection, who can then sign up with false information, etc.

If a list were to be put together, probably the only accurate one would be from ISP's as they usually assign subscribers a "Main Account" type email that's not changable in some cases.

Email isn't like the phone company, anyone can have an email account. Not everyone has to pay for the service with real billing info, etc.
