I also thought of the DADOES book.

This thread reminds me of an article I read some days ago on the BBC website: How are humans going to become extinct? Not sure whether the author is being fatalistic, but I do believe we humans are playing with science like a child with a gun.

edit: of course, the above doesn't mean I'm against science, it's only that we don't always use it with a good purpose; instead we often use it in a destructive way.
