DVD recorder and Mpeg question?

Anyone know if mpegs can be converted to DVD format and if so do i just need to buy a DVD recorder and copy them to a DVD disc? I have some short vacation mpegs I would like to play on my DVD player.

You can convert mpeg to mpeg2, but as with any re-encoding you'll lose quality.
As for playing on you dvd player you can encode the video and burn to a cd, the biggest problem is that you have a 20 min. limit on video length.

I'd suggest experimenting with different resolutions and mpeg codecs before you burn you videos just so you can see what you think is the best.

If they are short.. might also want to try an SVCD. I use to make those all the time a few years back.. before DVD burners were cheap.
