Dvd Drive trouble in Windows

Hey guys. First off, let me tell ytou this is a windows XP problem. I have a Dell Optiplex 450 mhz system which I bought a used 8x DVD drive for. I plugged it in and rebooted. First thing wrong is that there is an error message that says "Secondary Hard disk 1 not found. Press F1 to continue, F2 to run the Setup Util. (BIOS)" So I say, okay, and press F1. Turns out both my hard rives are in full working order. But My DVD drive still isn't recognized. So I looked for drivers on the web, and found one, but it was a DOS drivers and it didn't work. Now I'm in a pickle. Please help me. All I know about the drive is that it is by Raite Optoelectronics. Oh, and one parting word. It says on the back "ATAPI" but it seemed to have an IDE connector. Anyway, thanks.

Well I fixed it. It was all a matter of Master/Slave.
